Industrial construction in Mexico reaches 3.9 million m2 in 3Q2022

During 3Q2022, an important start of new construction works was registered in Parques Industriales de México, due to the growing demand for space after the pandemic throughout the country.

According to a Datoz report, around 3.9 million square meters (m2) of new constructions were inventoried nationwide. However, of the total new square meters, 66% correspond to speculative spaces.

The northwestern zone of the country accumulated 32% of the total constructions in Mexico at the end of 3Q2022. For its part, the Northeast accounted for 28% of the start of new square meters.

The most prominent cities during Reynosa and Ciudad Juárez added in 2022 a total of 138,007 m2 and 649,931 m2, respectively.

Due to this, a large part of the northern markets do not have availability at the end of the third quarter.
